Introduction

Horizon Clubhouse provides an empowering daily living skills experience designed to improve the mental health of its members.
Through participation in Clubhouse, members are given the opportunity to rejoin the world of friendship, family, meaningful work, employment and education.
Our Vision:
Where people living with a mental illness stand together and empower each other in their recovery, journey, creating hope for a meaningful, equitable, stigma-free life.
Our Mission:
To provide a foundation for individuals to work side by side, building skills, confidence, social connections and self- esteem. Horizon Clubhouse creates pathways to meaningful education and employment. To work in partnership with the community to promote understanding and acceptance of Mental Illness.

Work-ordered day

The basis of Horizon Clubhouse is the task focused day. Through this the members are involved in making decisions and planning the day to day running of the Clubhouse. Tasks are organised into work units which include:
•    CAT- Clerical, Admin and Training
•    Hospitality

What we offer

Horizon Clubhouse offers members support with advocacy, housing, education and employment. A social recreation program runs fortnightly after hours enabling members to take part in activities based in Clubhouse as well as in the community. Past social recreation outings have included dinners out, movie and pizza nights, tenpin bowling and games nights.

Member participation at Horizon Clubhouse is voluntary with YOU making the decision about when to attend, how long you attend and what area you participate in.horizon_clubhouse_youth
Membership gives you the opportunity to:
•    Meet new people
•    Share interests and skills
•    Learn new skills
•    Participate in meaningful daytime activities
•    Peer support
•    Busting the stigma associated with mental health challenges
•    Helping Mackay to see that people with a mental health diagnosis can lead satisfying and fulfilling lives in our community.
Membership is free and open to anyone who is 18yrs of age or over and has a history of mental illness.
