Carer Respite and Support provides a range of flexible family support options for carers and family members of people with a mental illness.
One of the services offered to carers and families of people who are affected by a mental illness is counselling. This is a service that gives individuals an opportunity to explore, discover and clarify ways of living more resourcefully, with a greater sense of well-being. Counselling and support services operate as a brief intervention approach. A key characteristic of this approach is that it is a time-limited service that engages with people to share information and working collaboratively to enable those people to access resources and make their own choices, decisions and plans for the future.
